Media release: Aberdeen’s exhibitors to showcase wedding delights

AS wedding fever heats up across the country – in anticipation of two Royal weddings in 2011 – exhibitors from the Aberdeen and Shire region are jumping at the chance to showcase their expertise to prospective brides at one of Scotland’s largest wedding exhibitions this weekend.

Having attracted over 3,000 people last year, this year’s Your Wedding Exhibition (YWE) will take place at AECC in Aberdeen on 15th and 16th January.

Locally-based exhibitors and some from as far afield as Birmingham and Arisaig will join together from across the UK to form a show consisting of almost 200 different exhibiting organisations.

Simon M. Morgan, director of YWE, comments: “The event, now in its 16th year, and fifth at the AECC is the biggest one yet. This year we have had to move the exhibition and fashion show into the Press & Journal Arena – The AECC’s biggest space. We are delighted to grow our exhibition year on year, which is a testament to its popularity.

“This is an extremely exciting year for weddings, what with Prince William and Zara Phillips set to walk down the aisle early this year. Wedding fever is at an all-time high, with many prospective brides keen to anticipate what the Royal brides might have in store.

“From the lavish to the more affordable, our exhibitors will show that you don’t need to have a royal wedding budget to have the wedding of your dreams.

“There is a huge choice on offer at the show and I am amazed at the developments and trends that appear each year. I look forward to welcoming prospective brides, grooms, their family and friends, to what is set to be another brilliant year.”

The show will host a complete spectrum of wedding related suppliers, from photographers, fashion, florists, beauty and cakes to the more cosmetic laser eye treatment and teeth whitening. Also on display will be our largest array of 19 wedding cars ranging from the vintage Rolls Royce to the gross stretch limousine, and a selection of luxury SUV Hummers inside the Arena.

The fashion show, which run twice daily at 12pm and 3pm, is also the biggest it has ever been, with 21 models showcasing the finest wedding couture. Tiered seating will provide visitors with the best possible views.

The wedding show will be open from 10am to 5pm on both days. Tickets cost £8 for adults, with children under 16 free. A group of four receives entry for £30. For further information, visit www.yweltd.com.
