Media release: Media advisory/photo opp – launch of Fort William Mountain Festival

YOU are invited to send a photographer / camera crew / reporter to a photocall at the Old Fort, Fort William, (on Wednesday 09 February 2011 at 9:45) to launch the tenth Fort William Mountain Festival, a five-day celebration of mountains and the culture that surrounds them, which runs from Friday 11 to Tuesday 15 February 2011.

WHAT: Lochaber hero, Gary MacDonald, the current and six-times Scottish Premier Trials champion and 2010 British Trials champion (Expert A), has turned his hand to a bit of mountain bike trials in the off season.

He will show off his skills at The Old Fort in Fort William with some eight-foot jumps and other new found skills, set against the stunning backdrop of Loch Linnhe and the snow covered mountains beyond.

Gary MacDonald will be attending the Jump Jam on Saturday 12 February, a biking aerials workshop using a giant airbag with ‘land safe technology’ (Airbag.net).

It is a safe, painless and addictive means of improving big-air mountain biking without the fear of eating dirt. Gary will be on hand to give his advice to those young mountain bikers attending.

It is rumoured that a few leading names in UK mountain biking will also be attending.
