REPRESENTATIVES of a leading Aberdeen-based oil and gas engineering services company, Cammach Group, are gearing up to head to the Middle East following a healthy upturn in demand for services in the region.
Managing director, Bill Barclay, is preparing to head up a visit to the region following a flurry to enquiries about Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), Prevention of Fire Explosion and Emergency Response Regulations (PFEER) and CO2 module testing.
Bill Barclay said: “We identified a market need in this area two years ago and, since that time we have seen a marked increase in business.
“To date, our work in this field has been primarily in the North Sea but we are experiencing an increase in queries from various Middle East locations where there is a desire to apply North Sea best practice in various areas, including these tests.”
He added: “Recent global events have led to a heightened awareness of safety in general and, because more and more companies are being proactive, we are seeing a positive impact on our business as a result of that proactivity.”
From its worldwide headquarters at Cammach Business Centre, East Tullos, Aberdeen, the multi-faceted Cammach Group has been servicing the oil and gas industry for more than a decade and currently supports operations in the UK, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Europe, UAE and West Africa.
Services range from general maintenance repairs to full, multi-discipline turnkey packages including field survey, design, build, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
Key to the success of the company since it was founded in 1997 has been practical experience and capability in refrigeration and HVAC, coupled with the ability to work closely with the clients to meet demanding objectives and deadlines.
In 2010, Cammach Group announced that turnover had increased to just over £7.5 million.
