Media Release: Bollywood restaurant founder seeks working partner to drive expansion of brand throughout Scotland

FOLLOWING the immediate success of Bollywood, the new restaurant which opened in Dundee only last month, the entrepreneur who conceived the concept has brought forward his expansion plans and is now actively seeking a working partner to drive the growth of the Bollywood brand throughout Scotland.

Tony Hussain, former chef, restaurateur and managing director of Dundee-based SHK Property and Investments, the company behind the restaurant, said: “The popularity of Bollywood has been instant and far exceeded our best expectations. Consequently, I’m now seeking a working partner in the licensed trade to help develop the brand and build it rapidly throughout Scotland.”

SHK is now searching Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline and Stirling for suitable premises of up to 4000 sq ft, accommodating up to 200 diners, which may currently house a pub, bar or nightclub.

The first Bollywood restaurant offers diners in Dundee a comprehensive range of fresh food dishes from around the world, bringing together Indian, Italian and Spanish cuisine at a very reasonable price.

A 175-seat buffet restaurant, Bollywood’s lush and extravagant interior, includes a live kitchen, plasma screens throughout and a specially-commissioned two-way screen displaying classic Bollywood images.

Enjoying a close association with Bollywood, having introduced Scotland to the industry in 1996 when he acted as host to various Bollywood producers, Tony Hussain, is currently co-producing a feature film with Bollywood director, Nileish Malhotra, called ‘Beyond Belief’, which combines a love story set within an environment of fundamentalist terrorism within the UK.
