PRESS RELEASE/PHOTO CALLYOU ARE INVITED TO SEND A REPORTER/PHOTOGRAPHER/CAMERA CREW TO THIS EVENT
A NEW gallery space in one of Glasgow’s best-known city centre restaurants is opening today (Thursday, January 10).
The Gallery at The Mussel Inn in Hope Street is situated in the mezzanine area of the award-winning restaurant where exhibitions by a range of photographers, printmakers, illustrators and experimental artists will be hosted.
The first exhibition features ABC Photography from three established Glasgow photographers – Andy Stark, Billy Stirling and Cameron McMurdo.
They are uniting to showcase interesting portfolios and will use this opportunity to display some of their more expressive artistic prints. Prints will be on sale in the restaurant and during the month-long exhibition.
“This is a great opportunity for photographers and artists alike to show their work in a prime city centre spot with excellent facilities for hosting a fabulous preview party for important clients,” said Johanna Larson, the Gallery’s curator.
“Future exhibitors include a host of very different Glasgow photographers but we also have a few guest appearances from London and Stockholm planned.”
Artists and photographers interested in putting on their own exhibition can contact Johanna directly for more information.
The launch will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Mussel Inn, 157 Hope Street, Glasgow on THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2008.
