SHIP or shore? If you’re weighing up the costs of a land-based holiday against a cruise, you might be surprised to see cruising can offer some compelling comparisons.
For those visiting expensive destinations or concerned about the cost of the eurozone, Glenton Holidays’ cruise experts say the all-inclusive nature of cruising means you can get much more value onboard than on land.
The Glasgow-based operator offers ocean and river cruises in its main summer 2009 brochure and in a separate cruise brochure, launched with Fred. Olsen Cruises.
Destinations include Norway, the Baltic Sea, Denmark, Russia, the Mediterranean, Madeira and the Canaries.
Norma Howe, Glenton’s cruise manager, says: “Norway is regarded as the most expensive country in Europe, and the best way to view its spectacular fjords is from the deck of a cruise ship.
“With our Med cruise, there’s no other way to see so many Mediterranean resorts in one holiday unless you hire a private jet!”
