ONE of Scotland’s largest independently-owned contract cleaning companies, Barrhead-based Complete Cleaning Services did the double by achieving two ISO standards on the same day.
Complete Cleaning Services, which employs 400 people was awarded ISO 14001 for reducing its carbon footprint and it also received ISO 9001 which recognises its quality management systems.
Simon Parker, lead assessor with QMS International the certification body who presented both awards to the company said:
”It is very unusual for a company to be awarded ISO certification in two different categories on the same day.
“It requires a high level of commitment and a lot of hard work by the entire staff to achieve one of these standards, let alone two.
“Complete Cleaning Services, has done really well, considering that fewer that five per cent of UK companies have ISO 9001, and even less, under one per cent, have ISO 14001.”
Donald Carslaw, managing director of Complete Cleaning Services, said: “I can’t praise my staff enough for the sheer hard work they have put into attaining these internationally-recognised standards.
“We have always been committed to protecting the environment though minimising our use of chemicals, recycling all our paper and other waste and generally being an environmentally-friendly company.
“Achieving ISO 14001 is particularly important because local authorities, government agencies, and more and more private companies want to know that you are environmentally responsible before they will do business with you.”
