Media Release: Oban offers visitors plenty of Scottish cultural spirit this Hogmanay

OBAN, one of Argyll’s most popular tourist destinations on the west coast of Scotland, is set to entertain visitors at this year’s Hogmanay celebrations.

From ceilidhs to bonfires, there will be plenty of Argyll spirit in the air.

So, here’s a handful of what’s on:

Venue: O’Donnells Irish Pub & Paparazzi Café Bar (NEW!)

Event: Hogmanay Party

Date and Time:  31st December – 8pm to 2am

Details: Two floors of live music and entertainment with popular local rock band, Chunks, at O’Donnells Irish Pub and DJ Johnny at the brand-new Paparazzi café bar upstairs. Over 18s only. Tickets £5 in advance, £7 at the door. (Advanced booking is advised).

Event: Hogmanay Dinner and Ceilidh

Date and Time:  31st December. Dinner from 7.30pm (including sparkling reception). Ceilidh starts at 9.30pm.

Details: Enjoy a sparkling reception at 7.30pm. Be escorted into dinner at 8pm by a traditional Scottish piper for a set four course Taste of Scotland extravaganza which celebrates the local produce available to an experienced kitchen brigade. Details: The country house hotel, six miles south of Oban, is offering special Hogmanay packages to celebrate the New Year. The Hogmanay Party, included in the package, includes a champagne reception, a free celebratory drink at the bells and entertainment from a live Scottish ceilidh band. Details: Celebrate Hogmanay at Barcaldine House.
