Media Release: Link’s advice service achieves national accreditation

LINK’S advice service has achieved accreditation from the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers.

Says a spokesperson: “It is the first housing association service to have received accreditation for money advise provision and only the second to achieve accreditation for welfare rights advice.

“The accrediation standards were developed by the Scottish Government to ensure that advice services throughout Scotland are being delivered to an acceptable and consistent level.

“The assessment process was extremely throrough, exmaining every aspects of the Advice Service’s activities including management, planning, accessibility and customer care, service provision and technical competence.

“The team behind the service spent nine months collating evdience of its compliance with the standards. Auditors assessed the evidence, interviewed Advice Service staff and looked in detail at the cases of 26 advice team clients.”

Advice Service co-ordinator, Rhona Penman, said: “The auditors shone a light on every aspect of our activities and we are very pleased that the quality of what we do – and the top level knowledge of our 17-strong team – have been officially approved.”
