Media Release: State-of-the-art new premises for ambitious Moray business

A LOCAL, Moray-based company, Scotland Electronics (International) Ltd (SEIL), iis to relocate to new state-of-the-art premises at the Enterprise Park, Forres.

The occupancy of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) owned building Nova House is part of SEIL’s ambitious business model for growth which will see the relocation of 33 permanent staff and the immediate creation of a further ten highly-skilled jobs.

Says a spokesperson: “SEIL is an electronic engineer and manufacturer of high performance electronics and motion control servo systems operating in harsh and extreme environments. It can boast a blue chip customer base within the aerospace, defence, oil exploration, Space, medical and nuclear research industries.

“The company has global agents working with key partners across the world including the USA, Middle East, Europe and Asia.

“It also has a permanent presence close to CERN in Geneva, the European organisation for Nuclear Research and home to the Large Hadron Collider which SEIL was involved in. In 2010, SEIL plans to establish a presence in the USA – Scotland Electronics Inc.”

Nova House is crucial to SEILs growth providing approximately 18,000 sq ft of office and manufacturing space, almost double to their present facility at Greshop Industrial Estate where they have operated since 1996.

Mike Ramsay, executive chair and CEO of SEIL, commented: “This move is an exciting and critical part of SEIL’s expansion plans. Our new facility allows us to provide a world-class capability to our customers, to grow our capacity to meet demand and to provide our employees with an effective working environment.

“We are proud of our Forres base, where we partner closely with HIE and encourage the employment of local people including providing future career opportunities for RAF personnel.”

David Reid, head of Businesses of Growth for the Moray Area Team of HIE, said: “We have been working with SEIL for a number of years in preparation for their expansion plans and are delighted to see the company up on the park.

“This is a flagship company to Moray within this sector, with a product and process proposition that allows SEIL to be globally competitive in a highly-sophisticated market.”

Highlands and Islands Enterprise has recently awarded the company a development package of £450,000.
