Media Release: Perth firm in the running for national award

PERTH-based communications agency, Volpa, has been shortlisted in two categories at the inaugural UK Event Awards for their work with two Highland Perthshire events: The Enchanted Forest and Macmillan Cancer Support Etape Caledonia.

Volpa has beaten off stiff competition from across the UK to reach the top three in Best Marketing Strategy for their work with The Enchanted Forest, which has seen numbers swell in recent years to over 20,000 attendees.

They will now go head to head with The Manchester Duck Race and online ticket agency TicketSoup.com for the title at the awards ceremony in October.

They have also been shortlisted as the only finalist in the category for Best PR Strategy for their work with Macmillan Cancer Support Etape Caledonia, which hit the headlines across the UK and Europe two years ago following an incident at the 2009 event.

The judges may have already decided their fate, however Volpa will need to wait until the awards ceremony in October to find out if they will be bringing the trophy home to Perthshire.

Tricia Fox, founder of Volpa, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve been shortlisted and we’re amidst great company with some of the UK’s leading brand names such as BBC, Vauxhall Astra, Phones4U and Sainsbury’s also in the running for awards.

“Perthshire is clearly gaining a reputation as an excellent place to hold events and the work we’ve been doing for The Enchanted Forest and Etape Caledonia has certainly contributed to that. I’m delighted we’ll be flying the flag for Perthshire at this year’s ceremony.”
