Media Release: Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations launches new website

SCVO, the national body for Scotland’s charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises launched their new website today.

The new look site is the one-stop shop for information on the voluntary sector as well as providing advice and support for anyone involved in a voluntary organisation.

From funding advice to training courses, www.scvo.org.uk has hundreds of invaluable resources designed to help Scotland’s 45,000 voluntary organisations to grow and thrive.

As well as support for organisations, the new website also brings together all the latest research on the Scottish voluntary sector, including key stats on the size and shape of the sector and opinion pieces on how to ‘do things differently’ in the new age of austerity.

John Downie, director of Public Affairs for SCVO, said: “The website is a vital part of our work, connecting thousands of voluntary organisations to the essential support that SCVO provides.

“It’s also really important for policy makers, politicians and the media to be able to see our latest research and ideas at the touch of a button.

“The new site is easy to use and attractive and we hope it’s a valuable tool for anyone interested in Scotland’s voluntary sector.”
