LEADING public relations and public affairs consultancy, Weber Shandwick, received two top awards at last night’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards in the capital.
Says a spokesperson: “With over 1,221 entries this year, the consultancy won Gold in the Best Consumer Relations Campaign and Gold for the Best Digital Campaign.
“Professionals from throughout the UK judged work by the consultancy’s teams in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness to be amongst the best in Scotland.”
Winners on the night were recognised for their outstanding contribution to public relations.
Weber Shandwick’s digital communications received top recognition for its Twitter Tasting Campaign on behalf of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, and against stiff competition, the successful launch of Sirius Whisky was judged to be the best consumer campaign carried out in Scotland.
Speaking of the success of the night, managing director, Nora Senior, said: “The awards showcase the exceptional high standards undertaken by our consultants across Scotland.
“With such a high volume of entries this year, we’re delighted our consultants continue to raise the bar for clients and find new and innovative ways of capturing the headlines.
“It is particularly rewarding to receive recognition for our digital communications as we are heavily investing in this area as clients are increasingly looking to engage with audiences online.”
The spokesperson added: The CIPR PRide Awards is the only awards scheme which showcases the best PR work being carried out across the UK regions and nations and sets industry standards.”
Emma Diamond, chair of CIPR Scotland, said: “The CIPR PRide Awards recognise and reward the thriving PR profession from across the UK.
“They help to celebrate the importance of demonstrating the value of what we, as public relations professionals, do and the positive impact this profession has on all aspects of business.
“Being named as a CIPR PRide Award winner is a fantastic achievement and I congratulate all of this year’s winners.”
