Media Release: New appointment for East Lothian/Midlothian CHPs

DAVID Small has been appointed as the new general manager for East Lothian and Midlothian Community Health Partnerships (CHPs).

He previously worked as general manager for Edinburgh Community Health Partnership (CHP) and takes up his new post this month (January 2011).

Dr Charles Winstanley, chair, NHS Lothian, said:  “I am delighted for David and would like to congratulate him on his new appointment.

“I know that his extensive experience and ability will be invaluable and that he will continue to develop the work of both Community Health Partnerships for the benefit of residents in both East and Midlothian.”

David Small said:  “I am looking forward to my new role and the challenges it will bring.  There are a number of exciting, new developments underway, including the Dalkeith Medical Centre due to be completed this year followed shortly next year by the Musselburgh Primary Care Centre.

“Both these developments will improve healthcare services for the local communities.”

David Small takes over his new role from the former general manager, Gerry Power and will be responsible for all primary care and community services in East Lothian and Midlothian.

David has worked in the health service for many years including his role as Head of Health Services for West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership.
