A SCOTTISH software development company is doubling its development team and moving into new offices in Stirling, as it uses recession-savvy tactics to ride out the economic downturn.
Cloud Street Ltd takes possession of its new premises at Springfield House in the prestigious Laurelhill Business Park this week.
The team have had to think smart to turn the difficult business environment to their advantage.
“We’ve succeeded in negotiating deals on office space and equipment,” says Cloud Street co-founder, Paul Midgley. “With these savings, we’ve had more to invest in growing our workforce.”
Adds a spokesperson: “What’s more, using tips and tricks from online jobs listing sites, Cloud Street has avoided recruitment agency fees and managed the entire hiring process in-house.”
“The weak employment market means we’ve had the opportunity to pick from an unusually strong field of candidates,” adds Midgley, whose experience includes a six-year stint as head of Development at leading travel site, cheapflights.co.uk.
