Media Release: Dian Ward launches hair app

A SCOTS hairdresser has launched what is believed to be the first hair app in the country, for iPhone and iPad users.

Dian Ward – who founded her own chain of hairdressing salons nine years ago in West Edinburgh – said: “Our app has many features – including exclusive latest offers – information and prices on all of our services from luxurious spa treatments, to the latest hair treatments, including the Brazilian.

“It interacts with all our other social media sites at Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well as linking to the many charities we support,” continues Dian.

Dian’s salon has always been at the leading edge of hairdressing, and her goal is to make her clients look and feel fantastic.

Two years ago, she opened her ‘Secret Salon’, where clients can enjoy a consultation in private about wearing a wig and looking their best while undergoing treatments for cancer and other conditions which involve hair loss.

Continues Dian: “I realised very early on that privacy is very important to cancer sufferers, who have endured hair loss as a result of their chemotherapy and other treatments, and I wanted to help those of my customers feel their best as well.

“Instead of letting them have their hair treatments in the main salon we created a ‘secret’ special space as an option, where we can work together to get the best look for them if they choose to have a wig fitted during their cancer treatments.

“This work has expanded, as my cancer suffering clients particularly benefit from a good head massage – this makes a huge difference to their recovery from treatment, as does the use of special vitamin nail creams and other lotions and potions.

“We work closely with cancer specialists to help those going through treatments to help improve the quality of their lives during treatment.

“Looking your best when you don’t feel your best is a big challenge and having the option to have these consultations in private we recognise is very important.”

As the Secret Salon is private, it can also be hired for pamper days such as mother and daughter days, hen parties or a girls’ day out.

You can download the Dian Ward App from the iTunes App Store online.
