Media Release: Bauer Media tops event chart with ‘Live on Location’

BAUER Media is celebrating after winning two awards at the prestigious Scottish Event Awards last night, Thursday 15th September.

The media powerhouse won the accolades in the ‘Best In-House Event’ and ‘Best Marketing Strategy’ categories for its Clyde 1 Live on Location event from Glasgow’s iconic Central Station.

The Scottish Event Awards, judged by a panel of industry experts, recognise the best in Scottish events, services and industry professionals.

Clyde 1’s  Live on Location was a five day event, which ran from March 7th -11th, and saw George Bowie, from number one breakfast show George and Suzie in the morning, host their 6am – 10am radio slot directly from the concourse of Glasgow’s Central Station and the Champagne Bar of the Grand Central Hotel.

Live on Location was a showcase event to launch the revitalised Clyde 1 brand.

Stuart Duncan, head of Brand and Marketing Scotland at Bauer Media, said: “We’re thrilled at winning two accolades at the Scottish Event Awards.

“The company has underlined its dominance in the Scottish commercial radio market place and Live on Location was part of our wide reaching strategy to further cement this position. It’s great to see the team receiving the recognition they deserve for all their hard work on such a high-profile event for Clyde 1.

“The media landscape is constantly changing, and increasingly the line between audio, visual and written forms of communication is being blurred.  As a company, we are focused on delivering a distinctive blend of locally relevant music, entertainment, news and sport across the entire range of media platforms that are now available.  By bringing the breakfast show to the very heart of Glasgow with Live on Location we were able to make it possible for our listeners to connect with us in a unique and personal way.”
