MUSSELBURGH Racecourse has urged teenagers attending the sell-out Ladies Day next week (Friday June 17) to bring photographic ID or risk being turned away.

The racecourse has a policy of admitting children aged 16 and under free when accompanied by an adult.

Although Ladies Day is a sell-out, a limited number of Children Tickets are available but cannot be booked in advance.

To avoid confusion and embarrassment over age issues, 16s and unders are being asked to provide a passport or birth certificate with photo ID to gain admission.

Musselburgh Racecourse commercial manager, Sarah Montgomery, said: “It is sometimes difficult to determine the age of younger race goers so to avoid any doubt we are asking that 16s and unders provide suitable proof of age.

“We are keen to avoid any disappointment on the day but without the correct ID we won’t be able to allow entry.”

Ladies Day is set to welcome another 7500 sell out crowd, the sixth year in succession the popular event has attracted a capacity attendance.

Sarah added: “There is a real buzz about  Ladies Day and this year is no exception. We have made a few changes to keep things fresh and provide value for money and we hope everyone coming along to Musselburgh will enjoy the experience.”
