SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has been instructed to sell Nova, a well-established and successful retail and giftware business in Aberdeen’s popular west end shopping district, with offers in excess of £750,000 invited.

Located at 18-24 Chapel Street, close to its junction with Thistle Street, the property is situated just north of Union Street, Aberdeen’s principal retail and commercial thoroughfare where the majority of private and public transport links can be found.

The business comprises a successful retail business while the property itself comprises a two storey, attic and basement building which has been extended into the ground floor of the adjacent building.

The 5,520 sq ft property has been fitted out to a high standard and provides sales accommodation at ground and first floor level office, staff welfare facilities at second floor level and a large storage area at basement level.

Murray Bain, commercial associate surveyor at Shepherd in Aberdeen, said: “The current owners of the business have traded successfully as Nova for 40 years and are looking to sell the business due to retirement.

“The business benefits from a strong local customer base, an excellent West End location and a reputation for selling high end giftware and kitchenware.”

Offers in excess of £750,000, plus stock at valuation, are sought for the premises and the business.

Whilst the main two storey, attic and basement property is owned by Nova’s business owners, they currently lease the ground floor of the adjacent building which they use as their greeting card shop.
