FOLLOWING a highly successful spring campaign and an action-packed summer, Lanarkshire’s tourism body, VisitLanarkshire, is stepping up activity to attract visitors to the region with the launch of its autumn marketing campaign.
Aimed at increasing bed nights and day visitors, VisitLanarkshire’s latest marketing drive will target the central belt with a mix of radio, outdoor and online advertising, while PR and media relations will raise the region’s profile amongst a wider audience.
Hosting a number of major national events, such as the RACMSA (RAC Motor Sports Association) Rally of Scotland and the British Gas Great Scottish Swim, plus a raft of other cultural events, including the popular Biggar Little Festival, Lanarkshire has a full calendar this autumn and visitors are being encouraged to make the trip to experience what the area has to offer.
Commenting on the campaign, Mark Calpin, chair of the Lanarkshire Area Tourism Partnership, said: “After such positive results earlier in the year, we are very keen to carry on the good work and build on the successes of the spring and summer activity.
“More and more people are realising Lanarkshire is an exciting destination to visit and if we continue to work hard, I’m confident this trend will continue.
“With half-term only a few weeks away, autumn will be particularly busy for Lanarkshire’s tourism industry and we will be doing all we can to support our members and ensure the campaign is a success.”
As well as the nationwide marketing activity, the autumn campaign also includes an array of money saving offers for Lanarkshire’s top visitor attractions.
