TRICKER PR has reached the finals in three categories of the national Fresh PR awards.

The Aberdeen-based agency secured a nomination in the Freshest PR Stunt or Event category for its creation of what is believed to be the world’s first venison ice cream.

The ‘stag’geringly good ice cream was created to promote the annual Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms Venison Festival.

Tricker PR also secured two nominations for its work on the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in the Freshest Austerity Marketing Campaign and Freshest Sponsorship Maximisation categories.

The awards ceremony will take place in Manchester on the 1st of March 2012.

“The Fresh PR Awards celebrate ‘free range’ thinking and our nominations reflect our creativity and innovation. The whole team at Tricker PR always strives to think with originality and vision,” says Beverley Tricker, managing director at Tricker PR.

“To be recognised by our peers in the PR industry across the UK, is a real honour.”

The Venison ice cream was the ultimate highland ‘stag party’ treat for the promotion of the 2011 Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms Venison Festival.

“We are always willing to go the extra mile to get the best results for our clients, even if it means climbing a 10ft ladder to get the perfect close up of our model next to a stag’s head!

“The photo shoot resulted in some excellent coverage in the UK and as far afield as India and Dubai. I’m sure it’s not what our work experience student had in mind when she arrived at work that morning!”

Tricker PR’s further two nominations are for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in the Freshest Austerity Marketing campaign and the Freshest Sponsorship Maximisation categories.

In early 2011, it had looked as if the annual event may struggle to survive after its 17 years of cash reserves were seriously depleted due to a storm wiping out a previous festival thus reducing gate takings.

When Aberdeen Asset Management stepped in as a title sponsor for three years, the event’s future was secured along with the £1.4 million economic benefit it brings to Banffshire.

Tricker PR has won more than 20 industry awards including the CIPR’s UK Outstanding Consultancy award. Tricker PR is one of Aberdeen’s leading PR consultancies with more than 30 consumer and business-to-business clients, from a broad range of sectors including retail, oil and gas, tourism, technical, not for profit, hospitality and professional services.
