THE Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns will be at the centre of things this Easter when a series of free Kids’ Fun time events at Waterstones will feature a LEGO Saturday Swap Shop.

Scheduled for Saturday 14th April, at 11am and 2pm, Waterstones is inviting kids to come along to the Saturday Swap Shop to swap any doublers or triplers of their LEGO minifigures and enter a competition to win a LEGO prize.

The series of Kids’ Fun time events kicks off on Tuesday 10th April from 1pm – 3pm when ‘Badger The Mystical Mutt’ returns to The Avenue for more storytelling and mischief. Badger and his friends will be outside Waterstones in a designated storytelling area in a session suitable for four year olds up to nine year olds.

Then a pre-school storytime, featuring readings of some favourite picture books with games and activities for one to five year olds, will take place within Waterstones at 11am on Thursday 12th April.

Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, said: “Our programme of free Kids’ Fun Time events offer a great way to keep the kids occupied during the school break, and gives other family members a chance to get on with some shopping while Badger The Mystical Mutt works his magic.

“And LEGO seems to become more popular every year so I’m sure our first ever Saturday Swap Shop will prove a popular event for our many local LEGO fanatics!”

Anyone interested in registering their children for attendance at the storytelling sessions are invited to do so at Waterstones’ till area or by calling 0141 616 3933.
