A NEW housing development in Wishaw has become the centre of a real life baby boom, with almost as many new arrivals as new homes welcomed to the world this year.

Says a spokesperson: “The pitter patter of tiny feet is now an exceptionally familiar sound at the Morningside Gardens development, which has become home to a staggering 16 bundles of joy in the past six months, with another one due by the end of the summer.

“Ten of this year’s babies were born to new parents and two residents have even set up a Morningside Mums page on Facebook to help bring together the growing community.

“The happy phenomenon has also caught the attention of the housebuilder, Stewart Milne Homes, which has allocated a space within the development for a specially designed toddlers’ play area.”

Victoria Dempsey has been the sales consultant at Morningside Gardens for just over a year and has become something of an honorary auntie to the new arrivals.

She said: “The past six months have been absolutely surreal – I don’t know what it is about Morningside Gardens, but it’s a big hit with babies.

“Most of those born this year are to new parents and one was particularly eager to settle into her new home, arriving just the day before her parents got the keys.

“Ten of the new arrivals all live on the same road, within the collection of terraced houses; either these are popular homes for new families or there is something in the water!

“We are already thinking about a joint street party next year when the children turn one, as it’s going to be difficult to keep up with all the first birthdays. As for the primary school across the road, I can only imagine preparations are underway for the class of 2016.”

Located to the east of Wishaw town centre, Morningside Gardens comprises a collection of new two, three, four and six bedroom homes, created by leading housebuilder, Stewart Milne Homes.
