Media Release: Shepherd lands one two in most active agents competition

Sandy Rennie

SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has landed a prestigious one two in commercial property industry bible, Estate Gazette’s Most Active Agents competition.

The firm’s commercial office was named the most active agent in the west of Scotland with Kevin Bell, associate at Shepherd’s Ayr office, named most active dealmaker.

And Shepherd’s commercial office was named the second most active agent in the Highlands, with Sandy Rennie, Head of Shepherd’s commercial department in Inverness, named most active dealmaker.

Over the last year Shepherd’s commercial departments covering the West of Scotland concluded 61 deals across Ayr, Dumfries, Motherwell and Stirling.

Bell was involved in 33 of these sales, new lettings and lease assignations of office, retail and industrial premises totalling in excess of 48,000 sq ft and over ten acres of land.

Rennie, meanwhile, was involved in the sale and new letting of office, retail and industrial premises totalling in excess of 57,000 sq ft in the Highlands, including the largest office letting in the Highlands last year, the largest office sale, the largest industrial letting and the largest trade counter letting of the year.

West of Scotland winner, Bell, said: “I’m delighted with this accolade which recognises that, despite the challenging economic environment within which we operate, the West of Scotland has an active commercial property market – and no agent is more active in that market than Shepherd.

“I believe that the key to our success in the West of Scotland, indeed in our offices throughout Scotland, is our partner-led approach and detailed knowledge of the local marketplace.”

Highlands winner, Rennie, added: “I’m particularly pleased that Estates Gazette has included the Highlands in this competition, given that, traditionally, much of the focus tends to be on the central belt market, and I’m delighted with the recognition of our levels of activity throughout the Highlands in these testing times.”

Shepherd’s commercial offices offer a multi-disciplinary property service that includes: valuation; commercial agency; corporate recovery and restructuring; building surveying; lease advising; rent reviews; development and investment consultancy; rating and property management.
