Media Release: Russian artist to return to Scotland for exclusive premier

Anna Razumovskaya

ART lovers in Scotland have a rare opportunity to meet one of Russia’s most talented artists as she returns to Glasgow barely a year after the unparalleled success of her Scottish debut.

Statuesque beauty, Anna Razumovskaya, will launch her latest collection at an exclusive exhibition at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square Hotel on Sunday September 16, and art aficionados have till the end of the week to reserve tickets to this must visit event.

The exhibition will feature a large collection of Anna’s work, including her world-renowned originals and highly sought after, hand-embellished giclees.

Although all of her pieces are signed, Anna will be on hand to add personal dedications on request to her work and her presence at the event will allow admirers exceptional insight into the meaning and inspiration behind her breath-taking work.

Bob Corsie, founder of Scottish art gallery group, Breeze, said: “We are delighted to be re-introducing Anna to Scotland after the fantastic reception she received last year which saw all of her paintings sell out.

“She will be exhibiting her most impressive collection to date, a series of pieces of such a high standard I have no doubt they will appeal to everyone from established collectors to novice appreciators of art.

“Ever since Breeze developed a working relationship with Anna over four years ago we have been delighted with how she has been received in all our galleries as she appeals to variety of artistic tastes.

“Anna is a stunning and glamorous individual, traits which are reflected in the stunning work she produces.

Currently, taking the art world by storm, Anna’s work has a pervasive sense of ‘romanticism’ and the influence of masters such as Renoir is clear.

Her paintings usually feature the female form, either in its entirety or with a focus on the face. The colours she uses are pastel based and muted, with fluid lines creating a truly stunning visual experience.

Also drawing inspiration from the portrait masters of the late 19th century, John Singer Sargent, the Russian painter Valentin Serov, Anna’s work is modern while giving a strong nod to the style of classic romanticism.

Having graduated with first class distinction from the Russian State University for Arts in 1991, Anna has also studied in Germany, Belgium and Holland between 1992 and 1995.

Now living and working in Toronto, Canada, Anna’s work is collected all over the world, with collectors in Scotland coming from as far afield as Inverness, Aberdeen and the Western Isles.

The exhibition will take place between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday 16 September at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square Hotel.
