THE first in a series of Breakfast Briefings from employee wellbeing experts, resolve, will highlight how employers have a duty of care to protect the health, safety and welfare of staff and how work-related stress is covered by this duty.

The Breakfast Briefing will take place at 8am on Wednesday September 29 at the resolve office, MWB Business Exchange, 9 – 10 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.

resolve business manager, Wendy Bates, commented: “Stress can be a hidden and pervasive problem which, if not managed effectively, can put a business at significant risk.

“The Breakfast Briefing will explain what the duty of care actually covers; how to avoid being in breach of this duty and how stress can be reduced in the workplace.”

resolve was set up by leading mental health charity Health in Mind to help Scottish business address the estimated £2 billion annual costs resulting from mental health issues at work.

The employee wellbeing service was funded by the Scottish Government Enterprise Growth Fund.
