Media Release: Celebrate global James Bond Day by discovering his footsteps in France

Dive into the landmarks of one of the world’s favourite literary and film icons of all time just across the channel

IN the advent of international 007 day, we’ve been doing some research to find out where Bond has been in France over the past 60 years, for your eyes only.

Here, you’ve got four Bond films and their French destinations so you too can discover France like an MI-6 spy.

Moonraker: Vaux-le-Vicomte Château (Ile de France) – The 17th century chateau is said that to have been the inspiration for the great Palace of Versailles and is near the beautiful Fontainebleau Chateau.

A View to a Kill: Chantilly Château (Picardie) – Recently renovated in 2009, the 15th century chateau not only sits in a beautiful forest, but its art gallery, housed in the Musée Condé, has one of the finest collections of historical paintings in France.

Diamonds are Forever: Hotel du Cap – Eden – Roc (Riviera) – The hotel dates back to the late 19th century and is in Antibes, a palm-tree lined town with a beautiful harbour to boot and a coast dotted with beautiful little villages.

The World is Not Enough: Chamonix (Rhone-Alps) – Chamonix is widely popular for both skiers and non skiers alike. Although its slopes are world class, it’s also got a wide range of activities possible.
