THE BIG Partnership, the UK’s largest PR and digital marketing agency outside London, has been appointed by music licensing company PPL to help raise awareness of the importance of music licensing amongst Scotland’s businesses.
Says a spokesperson: “PPL is the UK-based music licensing company which licenses recorded music for broadcast, online and public performance use. Established in 1934, PPL carries out this role on behalf of thousands of record company and performer members.
“Licences are issued by PPL to hundreds of thousands of businesses and organisations from all sectors across the UK who play recorded music to their staff or customers and who therefore require a licence by law.
“These can range from bars, nightclubs, shops and hotels to offices, factories, gyms, schools, universities and local authorities.
“PPL also licenses music service providers to copy recorded music for services such as in-store music systems, jukeboxes, fitness compilations and in-flight entertainment systems.”
The BIG Partnership won the retained account following a four-way competitive pitch.
The campaign, which kicks off this month, aims to support the music licensing firm’s engagement with Scotland’s business owners to raise awareness of what PPL does, educating them on the benefits of using music in business and how cost effective it can be.
Part of The BIG Partnership’s remit is to support the music licensing firm’s attendance at key sector and business events and develop its stakeholder relationships across different business areas.
