FOLLOWING last year’s Commonwealth Countdown showcase, Eden Court continues to ramp up the excitement surrounding the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a new interactive performance event, ‘Commonwealth Capers’.
The show is part of the Games for Scotland programme of events designed to inspire, motivate, engage and engender pride in the people of Scotland in the run-up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The programme, managed by EventScotland, forms a key part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to deliver a lasting legacy as a result of the Commonwealth Games coming to Scotland.
A two-day celebration of sport and theatre, Commonwealth Capers encourages everyone to join in the fun with dance events throughout Inverness on Sunday 11th November.
On Monday 12th November at 18.30, Eden Court opens its doors to the public for an incredible event that will combine the drama and passion theatre and sport.
Audiences can explore a whole host of Commonwealth Games-related theatre performances throughout the venue, before taking their seats for the finale.
Performers will include participants from Highland Youth Theatres and Eden Court CREATIVE’s classes and activities.

- Eden Court is the largest multi-arts venue in Scotland. It re-opened in November 2007 following an extensive redevelopment programme, which saw the addition of two purpose-built cinemas, a brand new flexible second theatre space and two dance and education studios.
- Eden Court CREATIVE Arts Workers live and work in ten different areas covering the whole of the Highlands of Scotland, from Nairn to Skye, from Lochaber to Caithness. They specialise in making drama, dance and digital media activities accessible to both children and adults in the Highlands. As the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games come to a close, Games for Scotland will celebrate the fact that Scotland is Next, with events inspired by the 17 Commonwealth sports featuring in Glasgow 2014 and by Scotland’s rich cultural and dance heritage.
