ONE of Scotland’s fastest-growing independent digital agencies is set to heat up the online beauty trade after being appointed to drive a campaign for one of the world’s largest distributors of professional hair and beauty products.

Search engine marketing experts, QueryClick, landed a multi tiered contract with international hair and beauty supplier Sally Beauty Holdings Inc to boost its online performance within the UK.

Three, six-month contracts with subsidiary traders Sally Express, Salon Services and its third solely web-based subsidiary, Beauty Express, will involve a range of services to increase brand exposure, traffic and sales to the three websites.

Chris Liversidge, founder of QueryClick, which has its headquarters in Edinburgh as well as an additional base in London and his team are delighted to win a client which has such worldwide recognition.

He said: “Landing the contract with Sally Beauty Holdings Inc is a massive achievement for Queryclick and the team are already heavily involved in boosting the company’s well-established brand profile throughout the UK.”

A Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) campaign to boost web performances will roll out the carefully-executed campaign to improve each website’s ranking in search engine results, for key search terms.

Over the duration of the campaigns each site will undergo a full technical analysis to resolve any issues which may act as barriers to search engines, preventing the sites from appearing on the first page of Google search results.

The QueryClick team will implement measures to encourage more traffic to the site from generic search terms, as well as those specific to the Sally Beauty Holdings Inc brand itself.

Using Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) tactics, QueryClick will look at the design and content of each of the websites, ensuring they are optimised in such a way that is not only user friendly, but attracts visitors to the checkout pages.

Chris added: “To propel the Sally Express, Salon Services and Beauty Express websites forward we need to generate the maximum possible exposure online by attracting the right audience and ensure user visits are useful, relevant and profitable.

“The UK beauty industry is extremely profitable and research from Cosmetic Executive Women UK found that its value is worth over £15bn and is employing almost a million workers which indicates that it is continuing to grow in strength.

“Clearly, there is already a massive audience for the thousands of products the three sites have to offer but with that comes strong competition from other online retailers.

“This means the brand has to work harder and smarter to secure sales in this market as featuring high in search rankings and having its business seen by thousands of people a day isn’t necessarily enough.

“That’s why we combine a wide range of search marketing skills such as CRO to deliver maximum results for our clients. The team behind promoting Sally Beauty Holdings Inc in the UK completely understand the importance of search marketing and it is fantastic to work with like minded people.”

QueryClick will also be involved in optimising the Irish versions of the Sally Express and Salon Services sites which are due to go live at the end of the year and assisting in the redesign of the Beauty Express website next year.

QueryClick launched in 2008 with just three members of staff and now employees 16 people working on a diverse range of clients including multi-national FTSE 100 company, Aggreko.
