CHARITY organisations from all over Scotland will meet today at The Gathering in the SECC to kick off a two-day packed programme of over 50 workshops and seminars.

At this free annual event, Glasgow Chartered Accountants, Martin Aitken & Co will present a step-by-step review to guide delegates through all of the current financial topics and trends affecting Scottish charities with a strong emphasis on pensions.

The session will be co-presented by two leading lights in the Scottish charity finance field. Adrienne Airlie is a Senior Partner at Martin Aitken & Co, Chartered Accountants who specialise in the charity sector.

Adrienne is also the Scottish convener of Association of Charity Independent Examiners and an ICAS Council member.

Adrienne will be joined by David Davidson, who leads the Public Sector, Charities and Not-for-Profit practice at Spence & Partners, Pensions Actuaries.

David is on the ICAS Pensions Committee and has recently been working with the Charity Finance Group to seek changes to pension legislation affecting charities.

Adrienne and David bring a wealth of experience and will provide practical examples to enable attendees to understand what the financial regulation and pension issues are and the likely steps you need to take.
