Media Release: Oil and gas consultancy relocate to the Global Subsea Centre of Excellence

Embrion-Jonathan and Jim

AN Aberdeen-based oil and gas consultancy has moved to new offices in Westhill to accommodate the continued growth of the business.

Embrion, which delivers a range of bespoke services using the science of psychology to improve business practices in performance and safety, has relocated from its former premises in the city’s Gallowgate to new offices in the Arnhall Industrial Park, Westhill.

The move places them at the heart of the growing industrial area on the outskirts of the city, known locally as the Global Subsea Centre of Excellence, which has already attracted a number of major oil and gas companies, including Subsea 7, Technip and TAQA Bratani.

The business, which is run by internationally-respected professor of psychology and business consultant, Dr Jonathan Passmore, and former Royal Marine, Jim McGovern, who has an experienced background in health and safety in the energy and construction industries, is already working with a number of clients in the North-east.

Launched in 2011, Embrion places the emphasis on science and evidence based research to offer a wide range of in-house and bespoke courses on health and safety and behavioural change, with a particular focus on the offshore environment and leadership and management teams.

Dr Passmore and Mr McGovern will head-up the new Aberdeen office, with the support of their skilled group of consultants, who work with a wide range of oil giants in the city.

Dr Passmore said: “We decided to relocate our office from the city centre to Westhill as it is regarded as the Global Subsea Centre of Excellence, and it is also in the same area that a number of our clients are based.

“Our consultants are working very closely within our clients businesses and directly with their teams, therefore it is crucial that we base our operations central to our clients needs.

“It’s rewarding to see the business expand as we continue to deliver our bespoke services to businesses across the North-east and in the North Sea.”

The move coincides with the launch of Embrion’s calendar of open seminars which are being held in Aberdeen throughout the year.

As in Institute of Leadership and Managers (ILM) provider, the seminars will include formal ILM courses, along with more practical skills courses for leaders, and a number of free events offering an insight into the work of the company.

Embrion brings the science of psychology to the practice of business performance and safety, focusing on people and their behaviours and aiming to help individuals and teams to reflect, learn and develop.

The skilled team of psychologists and consultants provides a range of services including skills training, leadership development, executive coaching, safety coaching, organisational change, personal security, health and safety and psychometric assessment.
