Media Release: Fife Council instructs Shepherd to offer three additional sites with development potential for sale

Sheperd 0025

ACTING on behalf of Fife Council, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors is offering three additional sites with development potential throughout Fife for sale.

Each of the sites has been earmarked for development for Class 4 (Office), Class 5 (General Industrial) and Class 6 (Storage and Distribution) uses, with an emphasis on bringing creating inward investment to Fife and the generation of jobs for the various communities where the sites are located.

Shepherd now has in excess of 140 acres of land across 16 locations available for development for sale for Fife Council.

The first of the three additional sites is located at Lammerlaws Road in Burntisland, an attractive seaside holiday destination and commuter town to Edinburgh, on the south coast of Fife.

The site, which extends to 1.45 acres, is situated immediately adjacent to the Beacon Leisure Centre and just 400m from Burntisland train station.

The second site is located at Loanhead Avenue in Lochore, a former mining village in Central Fife just ten minutes from the M90.

Lochgelly train station is located two miles to the south of the L-shaped site. The landscaped site extends to 13.2 acres with individual plots available from 0.5 acres to suit individual requirements. Lochore has been highlighted as an area of potential development in the Mid Fife Local Plan.

The third is located at Sandy Brae in Kennoway, a village near Leven and Methil, about three miles inland from the Firth of Forth.

The area is currently under regeneration and is open to new industry and occupiers. The 8.7 acre site is situated to the east of Sandy Brae Industrial Estate, just ten minutes from the A92. Again, individual plots are available from 0.5 acres to suit individual requirements.

Niall Gunn, partner at Shepherd, said: “Fife has a number of strategically important development areas, some of which have already seen a considerable level of investment and expansion activity by Fife Council, creating future development and potential employment opportunities.”

“With Fife’s excellent road network and close proximity to Edinburgh and the central belt, the commercial property sector has remained relatively buoyant in Fife throughout the challenges of the current economic climate. In addition, with the new Forth Bridge due to open in 2016, there is no doubt there has never been a better time to locate to Fife.”

Ronnie Hair, Fife Council’s Property Investment & Development manger, commented: “Fife has land for sale/lease in a wide range of sizes and for different employment uses; ideal for companies looking to locate, expand and start up a business in the region.”

Shepherd has three offices located throughout the Kingdom; at Dunfermline, St Andrews and Kirkcaldy, the last of which has a large commercial property operation.
