FRESH from being recognised by Estates Gazette as one of the top commercial firms in Scotland, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has consolidated that reputation with the addition of two surveyors to its operations in Greater Glasgow.

Lanarkshire native Derek Richardson, who qualified as a chartered surveyor at Shepherd’s Glasgow office earlier in his career before joining DTZ’s corporate real estate management then valuation departments, rejoins the Shepherd team.

And Glasgow-born Scott Grindlay joins Shepherd’s agency team, marking the latest stage in a career which has seen him specialise in the provision of retail property advice for a mixture of local and international surveyors.

Commenting on his appointment, Richardson said: “I’m delighted to rejoin Shepherd, particularly at a time when it is acknowledged that the firm is currently moving forward at pace, and I look forward to playing a central role in the acceleration of that growth in an active market.”

Grindlay added: “The attraction of Shepherd for me is that it is a firm that has shown consistent growth over recent years and the fact that it has a successful track record of advising on the property sectors within which I have experience. I regard this appointment as representing a tremendous opportunity to develop further the multi-disciplinary aspect of my agency experience and expertise.”

Welcoming the new recruits to the firm, Steve Barnett, Shepherd commercial partner in Glasgow, said: “I’m delighted that Derek and Scott have joined the firm to expand further our offering across the West of Scotland.

“These significant appointments not only signify our confidence in Greater Glasgow’s commercial property sector but also our determination to build on our burgeoning reputation as a leading player across Scotland’s retail, office, industrial and leisure and hotel sectors.”
