A NORTH-east reservoir engineering company will be sharing its expertise on the importance of shale gas during a seminar taking place in Aberdeen next week.
Oilgen, which specialises in high-tech reservoir modeling to forecast and improve oil and gas production, will be giving a presentation at the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society seminar on shale gas evaluation, which takes place at the Station Hotel, Aberdeen on Tuesday (4 June).
The event will include a variety of specialist talks from industry experts on logging, completions, petrophysical workflows, core analysis and core-log integration, giving delegates an excellent overview of the rapidly expanding topic in oil and gas.
Oilgen managing director, Laurent Schirrer, will share his knowledge on reservoir simulation and how to predict gas recovery from shale rocks during the event.
Mr Schirrer said: “Shale gas is a truly innovative market, and pushes the frontiers of reservoir engineering.
“Oilgen innovates in shale gas engineering by bringing together several complex techniques.
“I even remember developing one of these methods ten years ago, working on a North Sea gas well.
“Natural gas production from shale rocks is booming in America as this is a reliable, affordable, cleaner and responsibly produced energy. We are anticipating a strong demand for our expertise.”
In addition to subsurface project management, Oilgen operates an advisory branch, which includes access to a range of experienced consultants providing further support to its clients in reserves and acquisitions.
It also specialises in project management and provides Enhanced Oil Recovery techniques that are valuable to oil and gas production.
