MIKE Smith, CEO of Orb Group and promotional merchandise specialist, is honoured to be chosen to judge the most popular ‘Brand Development’ category at The Marketing Society Awards for Excellence.
Mike will join other brand building specialists including Kyle Hardy Union, Hugh Burkitt from The Marketing Society and Sheena Muncie, director Scot Inform, to judge the entrants at the awards on 6th June at the Old Fruit Market, Glasgow, Scotland.
The annual event is sponsored by top brands including Scottish Government, Highland Spring, The Scotsman, Cutty Sark and Orb Group.
Categories include Market Planning, Social Marketing, Green Marketing, International, Integrated Marketing, Direct Promotional Marketing, Event Marketing, Media and PR, ensuring there is something suitable for all.
The Brand Development Category has attracted the most interest with an unusually high number of entrants. This year it was noted that contestants eager to win the much coveted award, submitted a particularly high standard of application.
Mike Smith said: “Being asked to judge at the Marketing Society Awards has been an honour.
“On a daily basis I deal with some of the country’s biggest brands, managing their promotional merchandise campaigns and I am always looking for new ideas to enhance and add value to our client’s brand.
“This has been a unique experience. The quality of applications for the Brand Development category has been very high with many case studies showing new innovative ways to develop brands.
“Events like this encourage healthy competition and assists in developing a strong and skilled Scottish Marketing Community.”

The Marketing Society Award Dinner will cater for a sell out 425 marketing experts from all over Scotland and has earned a reputation as the event not to be missed by marketing professionals.
