THE makers of a new TV advertisement must have been the only people in Scotland to be disappointed by the recent sunny weather.
Scotty Brand, producer of premium fresh Scottish seasonal produce, needed torrential rain for a key scene it was filming on a Fife farm.
After weeks of wind and downpours, no one thought that would be problem. But on the big day, as temperatures soared, the crew had to resort to a specially-hired rain machine to produce the required downpour.
“We just couldn’t believe it” said Scotty Brand’s managing director, Paul McLaughlin.
“After so much bad weather, the last thing we thought we would have to worry about would be too much sun and having to manufacture rain. Luckily, Scotty didn’t seem to mind the showers or the sunshine.”
The advert marks the return to TV for Scotty the dog who made his cameo debut last summer in the joint Scotty Brand and Disney / Pixar Brave ad.
This year Scotty plays the starring role in the campaign as we follow his efforts to help the farmer, in all weathers.
The advert debuts on STV and Channel 4 in Scotland on June 17th and will be shown in cinemas from next month throughout the summer.
