Media Release: Hamilton Park Racecourse boosts management team

HAMILTON Park Racecourse, the Scottish racing, entertainment and leisure venue, has bolstered its management team with two key appointments.

Ashley Moon has been promoted from commercial manager to the new role of head of marketing and operations while Ann Doyle has been recruited as new sales manager.

Both will report to chief executive, Vivien Kyles, who says the appointments underline both recent business success and ambitions for further growth by continuing to increase the number of events being held at the racecourse throughout the year.

She said: “I’m very pleased to confirm both Ashley’s promotion as well as the successful recruitment of Ann, which is a real coup for the racecourse.

“Ashley has delivered a consistently high level of performance since joining me at Hamilton Park, helping to diversify the business, attract key sponsorships and ensure the ongoing success of both the racing and non-racing events we host throughout the year.

“His promotion is richly deserved and underlines our intention to further grow the venue’s position in the marketplace.

“It is with equal delight that I can confirm Ann’s arrival as Hamilton Park’s new sales manager. Ann brings with her a wealth of experience and contacts and I am very confident that she will prove a major asset to the business.

“After a testing 2012, when more than a quarter of our race meetings were affected by the weather, the response of my team this year has been typically positive and determined resulting in a successful first half of the year.

“I look forward to working with the team, strengthened by these appointments, to deliver a strong finish to the racing season and to maximise opportunities for the non-racing side of the business through to the festive party season.”

Moon arrived at Hamilton Park in 2008 from Reeds Tombland having been previously employed in a number of management roles in the UK hospitality industry.

He said: “The move to Hamilton Park has been a great one for me. I’m thrilled to accept the new position and am really looking forward to working with the team on the many exciting projects and challenges ahead.”

Meanwhile, Doyle arrives from Radio Clyde where she has spent seven years as a senior sales executive. Previous employers include Mercedes Benz and SECC.

She added: “It was a real wrench to leave Radio Clyde but the opportunity to join Vivien and her team at Hamilton Park was just too good to turn down. It’s a really vibrant business and a hugely exciting role so I am simply looking forward to getting started and making a contribution to the success of the venue.”

Hamilton Park’s final three fixtures of the 2013 racing season are Totepool Family Raceday (Sun Sep 22), Totepool Raceday (Mon Sep 23) and September Holiday Raceday with Shaun the Sheep and the Championsheeps (Mon Sep 30). All under-18s enjoy free entry (under-16s must be accompanied by an adult).
