ELGIN Youth Development Group, the charity which offers the only free youth provision in the local area, is set to receive much-needed funds from construction company, ISG, and their sub-contractor, Grant Electrical.

The charity, which assists all young people – including disabled, vulnerable, unemployed and the  homeless (aged 11-24) – is set to receive a £1,000 donation.

The money will be used to directly benefit the young people who make use of the facilities at Elgin Youth Café in the town’s Francis Place.

They also hire out and provide catering for any group in both the youth cafe and the Inkwell attached to the building, with the profits benefiting the young people.

ISG’s business development co-ordinator, Lynsey Brydson, comments: ‘‘We are extremely pleased to be in a position to assist the Elgin Youth Development Group.

“It is wonderful that the money will be used to directly fund activities which are so valued and enjoyed by many young people in the area.’’

Fiona Birse, chair of Elgin Youth Development Group adds: “As a charity, we rely upon donations to allow us to continue the work we carry out and are delighted that ISG has chosen us as their charity.”
