THE managing director of Ellon-based LFH Engineering, specialists in the design and manufacturing of pumps, has been appointed to a prestigious national manufacturing board.
The company’s Les Hill has been recruited to join the board of the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS), Scottish Enterprise’s manufacturing arm, which is made up of key individuals from the Scottish manufacturing landscape, offering informed advice, guidance and support back to SMAS.
Les was approached to join the advisory group by economic agency, Scottish Enterprise, after the organisation recognised the impressive success being enjoyed by LFH Engineering.
The company has built an unrivalled reputation for the design, manufacture and supply of exceptional quality diesel engine coolant pumps, providing a range of products for ship propulsion systems, diesel power plants and rail transaction installations.
Les commented: “I am delighted to be joining the SMAS Board and look forward to utilising my own experience within the manufacturing sector to contribute to the group.
“It’s particularly pleasing that my appointment has been made as a result of the success enjoyed by LFH Engineering, which continues to represent Scotland on the international stage, expanding into markets across the globe.”
Launched in March 2010, LFH Engineering Ltd comes with a long established history of design and manufacturing of pumps. The ISO 9001-accredited business also offers a host of repair and refurbishment services for diesel engine manufacturers and maintenance departments.
The award-winning company – LFH won the Overall Small Business of the Year accolade at the Northern Star Business Awards 2011 – currently employs 34 staff.
