Media Release: Cuckoo’s Cupcake Referendum Poll Results at the end of week two show a swing of 3.2 per cent in favour of ‘YES’

YES – 32.4 per cent (up 3.2 per cent)

NO – 49.5 per cent (down 1.4 per cent)

UNDECIDED – 18.1 per cent (down 1.8 per cent)

SINCE the launch of quirky Edinburgh Bakery Cuckoo’s Referendum opinion poll, there has been huge interest from customers, the media and politicians which has caused a Twitter frenzy.

At the end of the second week, the swing in favour of the ‘YES’ campaign is pronounced. Cuckoo’s will continue to release the results on a fortnightly basis through to the referendum; however, daily results will be available on request.

Customers have been peering over at other tables to see what other customers are eating and this has stimulated lots of interesting inter-table conversations. The overwhelming response has been that the cupcakes referendum poll has brought some light relief to the importance of the referendum.

Results will continue to be released on a fortnightly basis however on the day results will also be available on request. Cuckoo’s hope to achieve sales of 10,000 cupcakes between now and the referendum will give a very good indication of public opinion.
