Media Release: La Bonne Auberge appoints first female restaurant manager

??????????

DID you hear the one about the half-Dane, half-Icelander who manages a French restaurant in the heart of Glasgow city centre? It’s no joke. The AA rosette La Bonne Auberge brasserie at Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland has appointed its first female restaurant manager.

Diana Espersen joins from the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall and brings a wealth of international food and beverage experience to the role.

A graduate from University Centre César Ritz in Switzerland, Espersen has worked as a front desk agent in Shanghai China and as a management trainee at The Setai in South Beach Miami.

Having travelled the world, she moved to London where she worked as the assistant restaurant manager at the InterContinental Park Lane prior to her most recent position in Cornwall.

Commenting on her appointment, Espersen said: “I very much enjoy working in the corporate world, in the IHG type of hotel environment, but whilst I found London just too big, I’m already enjoying the buzz of Glasgow city centre, where there are all the benefits of operating within a busy corporate environment, without the downside of working in London.

“What particularly attracted me to this position is that, whilst La Bonne Auberge is part of Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland, it operates autonomously as a restaurant, which gives me the best of both worlds!”

Alan Taylor, general manager at La Bonne Auberge, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Diana to the team. Her international restaurant management experience brings an extra dimension to our operation and will help ensure that we are ready to serve the many tourists set to flood into Glasgow this summer for the Commonwealth Games and other attractions.”

La Bonne Auberge is located in the heart of Theatreland in Glasgow city centre and surrounded by some of Glasgow’s top theatres, as well as Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
