A SPECIALIST North-east oil and gas industry fire safety protection company is celebrating after reaching the final stages of prestigious business awards.
Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, which is based in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, has been shortlisted in this year’s Grampian Awards for Business Excellence, in the business success over three years category.
The competition, which is run by Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise), and headline sponsors RBS – Ahead For Business, supports and showcases the success of entrepreneurship in business.
Blaze is a family-owned business, which was launched in 2006 by Howard and Ann Johnson, and has rapidly established itself as a leading provider of fire safety protection and loss prevention solutions.
The company started with just two people working from a summerhouse, and today employs 30-full time members of staff and 100 contractors.
Blaze works with major oil and gas operators to design and supply fire protection systems and loss prevention services, and also manage new build contracts.
The specialist firm has continued to secure contracts with major names in the industry and has already won contracts worth a combined value of £15million this year.
Due to the continued growth of the company, Blaze has relocated from its Stonehaven office to bigger premises in Laurencekirk, and has also opened an additional office in Kemnay.
Blaze Manufacturing Solutions managing director, Howard Johnson, said: “We have come a long way since we launched the business eight years ago, and reaching the finals of the awards is a great achievement for the company and our team.”
The results of the Grampian Awards for Business Excellence will be announced at a black tie awards gala ceremony, which will be held at the Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel on Thursday 26 June 2014.
