Media Release: North-east firm helps local charity to share egg-stra special Easter treats

Genesis Personnel - CLIC Sargent 2

A SPECIALIST North-east recruitment and property development firm has spread some egg-citing cheer this Easter, by teaming up with a local charity to give children and teenagers a sweet surprise.

Genesis Personnel and Northbey Power, along with their sister business, Waterloo Quay Properties, worked with CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people and their families, to surprise patients with some Easter treats.

The three companies, which provide onshore and offshore recruitment solutions to clients across the world, and premium office accommodation in the city respectively, called on the help of their clients, candidates, tenants and suppliers, to collect chocolate eggs and soft toys for children and teenagers at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, and hand delivered them on Tuesday (April 15), in time for Easter weekend.

CLIC Sargent, which was formed out of a merger of two long-standing children’s charities in 2005, is currently supporting over 30 children in Aberdeen and Grampian who are undergoing treatment.

More than 4,000 families across the UK are told their child has cancer every year, and CLIC Sargent offers care and support at diagnosis, during treatment and throughout their recovery.

Sales and recruitment manager at Genesis Personnel, Moira Murawiecka, said: “As a group, we always like to support local charities and we thought it would be lovely to do an Easter appeal and share some treats with the patients.

“We were overwhelmed by the support from our clients, candidates, tenants and suppliers, and managed to collect over 200 eggs and soft toys to hand out, as well as a generous monetary donation from one of our clients.

“We also invited the much-loved Disney character, Doc McStuffins, along to drop off the eggs, and seeing the delight on the children’s faces was fantastic.”

Fundraising manager at CLIC Sargent, Jo Robinson, said: “We are delighted to have such a generous donation from Genesis Personnel for our service users. Easter is such a difficult time to be stuck in hospital, when friends are at home celebrating with their families, and chocolate is the best pick-me-up I know of.

“The children and young people we support are all at different stages of treatment and recovery, but this visit from the Genesis team has really put a smile on everyone’s faces.”
