LEADING mid-tier accountancy firm, French Duncan, has created a Forth Valley Centre of Excellence within the Stirling office of Macfarlane Gray, the practice with which it recently merged, to provide clients within the region with a national service from a local office.

A provider of accountancy and taxation services to businesses in the Forth Valley and beyond for 80 years, Macfarlane Gray is acknowledged throughout the local economy as a trusted advisor to its clients.

French Duncan now plans to use that reputation as a springboard to generate further expansion throughout the Forth Valley.

Greg Callan, managing partner of the Stirling office, said: “The creation of our Forth Valley Centre of Excellence forms part of our strategy to extend the scope of the value added advice and specialist services which already differentiate us from many of our competitors.

“We regard ourselves as a catalyst for growth for our clients, ensuring that they have the support when it is needed across a comprehensive range of areas to help them clarify their own vision for the future and to provide them with the confidence and self-belief required to realise their full business potential.

“Our status as market leader in the provision of accountancy and business advisory services in the Forth Valley area has been achieved through our resolute belief that the strength and quality of advice we provide to the local business community contributes directly to a local economy better placed to meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities available and to maximise the potential for wealth and job creation.

“As a Forth Valley Centre of Excellence, we can deliver our expanding client base with a national financial and business advisory service from an established local team with in-depth knowledge and contacts throughout the local economy.”

Macfarlane Gray’s recent merger with French Duncan created one of the largest mid-tier accountancy practices in Scotland with 20 partners, a fee income of £10 million, nearly 200 employees and a network of six offices spanning Scotland’s Central Belt.

Macfarlane Gray, which has previously been named the British Accountancy Awards’ Best Independent Firm in Scotland, was recently shortlisted in the Best Large Business category in the Forth Valley Chamber Business Awards.
