A LEADING Aberdeenshire marine equipment specialist has successfully reached the 100-employee milestone in less than four years of business.
Motive Offshore, which is headquartered in Boyndie, near Banff, in Aberdeenshire, has experienced significant growth since launching, prompting the firm to increase employee numbers to cope with demand.
The equipment specialists, which was first launched in 2010 by James Gregg, Dave Acton and Bob Smit, has continued to grow its presence both in the UK and internationally, with an additional two sites including a sales office in Aberdeen and an operational base in Stavanger, Norway launched at the end of last year.
The firm, which specialises in the manufacturing and rental of high capacity winches, umbilical deployment equipment and specialised subsea equipment, has developed a comprehensive catalogue of equipment and by the end of 2014 will have invested in excess of £2m in its rental fleet.
Bob Smit, director at Motive Offshore, said: “It is a great achievement to reach the 100 employee mark in under four years of business and is something we are very proud of.
“As a business, we have a real focus on people development and make a conscious effort to help our employees advance their careers with comprehensive training and also offer around ten apprenticeships annually, as well as pushing employment in the local area.
“This has helped us to establish a very high level of staff retention of 98 per cent per year, which is a great accolade for the business.
“In the last few years, we have secured several large contracts and grown rapidly, so we had to develop our workforce to ensure we could continue to offer our clients quality products and service.
“We have also significantly invested in our products in the last year to ensure we meet market requirements and provide the industry with a new generation of high quality marine equipment.”
