Wilde Thyme 800x450

PROVING that cream really does rise to the top, Comrie-based luxury caterers, Wilde Thyme, have been awarded a prestigious Eat Safe award. This is a top accolade for food businesses who have outstanding food hygiene and food safety management standards.

Wilde Thyme will be presented with their Eat Safe award by their local Environmental Health Officer, Alison Lothian on Thursday 23rd October at 10.00am at Glamis Castle, where Wilde Thyme are exclusive caterers. This award, run by the Local Authority Environmental Health Service in conjunction with the Food Standards Agency, is another layer of icing on the cake for chef patron, Andrew Hamer and his talented team.

Andrew said:

“The highest of food hygiene and safety standards is of paramount importance to myself and the team at Wilde Thyme. It is as vital as the flavours and innovative dishes we create. An award like this is testament to the outstanding standards everyone at Wilde Thyme consistently meets and exceeds. In particular, Head Chef Judith MacVicar and Restaurant Manager Paul McGarley, work incredibly hard to promote these high levels of professional standards. We are delighted to be recognised in this way.”

Established in 2003, Wilde Thyme has catered for an array of high profile clients including Ralph Lauren, Ernst & Young, Porsche, Bentley and high profile attendees such as HRH Prince Charles and Sir Arnold Clark. The team’s passion was rewarded when they won the UK ‘Event Caterer of the Year’ award in 2013.

The team were also offering their mouth-watering culinary delights to VIPs at the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles last month, using local produce and suppliers at the massive Perthshire event.

Andrew continues:

“It has been a very exciting time for Wilde Thyme. I feel very proud of all the work we do and dishes we create and to be able to use local suppliers and the very best quality of produce on our menus is very satisfying.”

The Eat Safe award is part of a scheme to encourage food businesses to strive for food hygiene and food safety management standards that exceed the standards required by law. It also enables consumers to be more aware about the standards of food hygiene when eating out and seek out the ‘sign’ of excellence the Eat Safe award offers.
