- Line-up confirmed for ‘Aberdeen’s Biggest Dinner Party’ on Thursday 14 May 2015, including Moray Barber from renowned comedy troupe, Flying Pig Productions -

QUARRIERS, one of Scotland’s largest social care charities, is setting the stage once again for one of Aberdeen’s social calendar highlights as it hosts its annual WAGS Dinner at the Ardoe House Hotel on Thursday 14 May.

As the main feature of the evening, the charity has confirmed Moray Barber, from popular Aberdeen-based sketch team, Flying Pig Productions, will be headlining the event’s comedy offering.

Barber will be sharing the stage with other circuit-favourites: former Northsound presenter, Cammy Campbell; past Aberdeen Speakers Club president, David Cobban; and Mike Melvin, a member of Aberdeen Toastmasters; who will also entertain guests with their extensive collection of tales, anecdotes and quips.

As well as a fantastic night of entertainment, guests will be treated to a welcome drink and delicious three-course meal.

With all proceeds raised on the night supporting the charity’s Epilepsy service in Aberdeen, Quarriers makes the announcement of speakers on Purple Day (Thursday 26 March) which is the international epilepsy awareness day where people around the world are encouraged to wear purple to show their support for epilepsy sufferers and the services that support them.

Alice Drife, from Quarriers, said: “Since the first WAGS Dinner, and with the extensive support from the event committee who have worked tirelessly over the years, we have been able to raise over £550,000 for the local epilepsy fieldwork support service managed by Quarriers.

“The service is a vital lifeline for many  people with epilepsy and fundraising is essential for ensuring it continues to deliver the best possible support.

“With ‘Happiness’ as its theme, this year’s dinner is set to be the best one yet and, with four cracking speakers on the bill, there is sure to be plenty of laughter on the night. It’s one of our favourite events to host and guests are always extremely generous in supporting a great cause.”

Tables of ten for this year’s WAGS Dinner cost £850, tables of 12 are available for £1,020 and individual seats are £85. For more information or to book a table, please contact fam.reynolds@btinternet.com
