REPRESENTATIVES from one of the world’s oldest companies will this week head a north-east delegation attending a leading international removals conference in South Africa.
Partner at the Shore Porters’ Society Euan Cuthbert and Colin Davidson, the company’s international removal manager, will travel to Cape Town to attend the annual FIDI conference which will take place in the city from March 28 to April 1.
The event is organised by FIDI, the largest global alliance of independent quality international removal companies and will see over 600 delegates descend on the Mother City for the five-day conference.
Begins a spokesperson: “One of the most important events in the removals sector calendar, the conference, now in its 64th year, is attended by key individuals from across the world.
“This year’s theme is Ubuntu, an African concept relating to human interdependence, solidarity and partnership working and will feature a number of keynote speakers, including Reverend Mpho Tutu and South African futurist, Guy Lundy.”
Euan Cuthbert said: “Within the international removals sector, the FIDI Conference really is held in high esteem by its members and attendees and we’re delighted to be representing the north-east by heading back to this year’s event.
“These sorts of events are of significant importance to Shore Porters, allowing us to keep abreast with the latest trends and developments within the removals market; an aspect that has been integral to the company’s success throughout its time operating.
“The chance to meet key industry figures is of great benefit to the company and is a perfect opportunity for north-east companies like ourselves to pursue opportunities with both existing and potential international clients.”
The Shore Porters’ Society has more than 515 years’ experience, dealing with local national and international moves in a variety of sectors including domestic, commercial, antiques, fine art and storage.
