Media Release: Innovative file sharing technology showcased to Scottish film industry

Iain Richardson

MEMBERS of the Scottish film industry will come together today for the launch of an innovative product which promises to revolutionise video production workflows.

Aberdeen-based video streaming experts, Beamshare, will showcase their video review and collaboration technology at Film City Glasgow, one of the most popular production bases for Scotland’s film and television industry.

The team will discuss their product with creative professionals and explain how it can transform video production in the Scottish film industry.

Iain Richardson, creator of Beamshare, said: “We are delighted to share the benefits of Beamshare to those working in TV and film.

“As a producer told us, sending emails back and forth to clients to get their feedback on videos is frustrating and time consuming. Collaborating on video projects should be a quick process but it isn’t and Beamshare is the solution to this.

“We make it possible for producers to share material with their clients, get feedback and collaborate, in a simple online user interface without having to meet in person.

“Beamshare enables a producer to share a video project with his clients and everyone can review and comment in a simple to use web based platform. We quite literally get everyone on the same page.”

Says a spokesperson: “The TV, film and video production industry is worth £50 billion per year in the UK and US and Beamshare is aiming to grow their business within the sector through investment crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube.

“Beamshare’s pitch launches on Crowdcube later in April and is open for 45 days for potential investors to contribute. Investments will be eligible for generous Seed Investment (SEIS) tax relief of up to 50 per cent.”

Iain added: “Beamshare saves customers time and money, as well as helping them be more productive. We have a technical team with world class expertise and a market proven product.

“Successful Crowdcube investment will enable us to grow both the company and subscription sales, first in the UK and then internationally.”

Beamshare counts MG Alba, Pistachio Films, Birseland Media and Bristow Group among its clients.

The company is based in Aberdeen and further information is available at www.beamshare.com and http://beammshare.com/invest
